What to Expect
Picture
Speak with an expert physician
Our physicians are experts in the many ways the immune system can be impacted by gut health, diet, nutrient deficiencies, impaired glucose metabolism, oxidative stress and other biochemical imbalances. Our physicians have training and experience in treating the root causes of these chronic medical conditions.
Picture
Thorough history
A comprehensive review of a patient's history can often reveal events in a child's past that can have long term effects on their overall health and immune system function. Our physicians will seek as much detail as possible about your child's health history including mode of birth, growth, digestion, exposure to antibiotics just to name a few areas of health discussed.

Nutritional Physical Exam
Nutritional deficiencies, even subtle ones, can impact the immune system and result in signs that can be seen by a physician who is trained in nutritional assessment. A visual exam can reveal a lot about a child's skin, hair, nails, tongue, eye movement, gross motor and fine motor skills, among others.

Education
Our doctors strive to help you understand your child's lab results, physical findings and overall recommendations. They send studies and review articles when warranted to provide further support for these recommendations. We want our parents to understand what their child's body is experiencing, not just follow recommendations blindly.

Receive a detailed plan
You will receive a detailed plan electronically of your child's recommendations based on their unique needs. Any supplements recommended will include links to exact brand, dose and means of administration. This plan will include research and published review articles to support these recommendations.

Optional At-Home Testing
A more in-depth assessment can be done after an initial appointment through safe, easy to conduct, at-home testing that includes a urine organic acid test and/or comprehensive stool analysis. These tests can detect gut microbiome imbalance, malabsorption, nutrient deficiencies, mitochondrial dysfunction, methylation issues, and oxidative stress.
All of these factors can greatly impact immune system function.
Reviewing these test results will be done during a 60 minute follow up appointment.
