Dr. Valerie LaRosa

Physician
Dr. Valerie LaRosa is a physician who listens to her patients and offers a balanced perspective that takes each individual and their unique life circumstances into account. She believes you deserve a physician who is compassionate, thorough, and committed to helping you nourish and support your family's health and well-being through gentle, effective, natural medicine.

Dr. LaRosa is a licensed, Naturopathic physician in the state of Oregon, and received her doctorate in Naturopathic medicine from the National University of Natural Medicine. With Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Psychology and a background in behavioral therapies for children with developmental delays, Dr. LaRosa has over twenty years of experience working closely with families, schools, and other professionals advocating for the best possible care for children. Her practice focuses on pediatric developmental conditions such as Autism, Down Syndrome, ADHD, and Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD).

As a mother of two and a physician, she understands that each child is unique in their genetics, their biochemistry, and their temperament, regardless of diagnostic labels. Her whole child, family-centered approach to care combines evidence-based, functional medicine and individualized treatment recommendations that acknowledge and support the connections among the digestive and immune systems, sleep, diet, stress, brain development, and behavior.

She is also an adjunct faculty member at Portland Community College in the Health Studies program where she enjoys teaching courses on children’s health, environmental health, and stress.
